  • Notes
    • In 1861 census, age 4 born Wharton, as "child" (like all other children) with Thomas and Elizabeth aboard "Wanderer" in Manchester. Two possible birth records, the more obvious being Q2 1857 Northwich, no mother's maiden name given, bapt 7.6.1857 Wharton (Cheshire BTs) no parents named, but another possiblility is Q4 1858 Leigh, where three younger siblings were born, as mother's maiden name given as Hatton - though this Ann's age would have been expected to be recorded as 2. There are death records in Liverpool, 1861, for two Ann Hulses, ages 4 and 2.
Thomas and Elizabeth's daughter Hannah is also recorded in the 1861 census as Ann, age 14, and they had Annie in 1862.
