    In 1841 he is in Pottery, Wigan, as John Mailey, 40, weaver, with children William, 15, and Ellen Lyon, 12.
    In 1861 he is in Banks Row, Wigan as John Malley, 60, unmarried, cotton mill fireman born Orrell, with an unmarried sister Elizabeth Parr(?) 56 and a grand-daughter Catherine Malley, 13;
    In 1871 he is at 5 Bancks Houses, Pottery, Wigan, as a widower age 75, labourer born Orrell, with a widowed daughter-in-law Elizabeth Malley, 59, housekeeper and (daughter?) Catherine Malley, 23, unmarried.
    No death record found.
