    Notes:

There is another James born to William and Mary in the St Anne, Scarisbrick, records, born and baptised on 22.6.1820. Either this is another family, though no other record of such has been found, or the 1815 James has died - but no burial record has been found and the 1820 James would have been only 18 at marriage when his age is stated as "full" (ie 21+).

James married Jane Banks on 27 Aug 1838 in St Peter and St Paul, Ormskirk. Jane (daughter of Thomas Banks) was born in 1810 in Halsall; died in 1868 in Burscough. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

Halsal in marriage record. Bural listed as Roman Catholic, age given as 75.

William married Mary Jones on 27 Nov 1803 in St Mary, Scarisbrick (RC). Mary was born in 1780 in Lancashire; died in 1854 in Lydiate; was buried on 3 Jan 1854 in St Cuthbert, Halsall. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 5.  Mary Jones was born in 1780 in Lancashire; died in 1854 in Lydiate; was buried on 3 Jan 1854 in St Cuthbert, Halsall.

    Notes:

Mary and William also had a CofE marriage at All Saints, Rainford on Nov 26 1803, witnesses Peter and Esther Birchall (Lancs OPC).
Birth date calculated from age in burial record. Age given as 50 in 1841 census, thought to be an error as she would have been only 12-16 when she married. Absent in 1851 census, though husband listed as married not widowed. Age 74 in burial record with note saying Roman Catholic.
