An entry in Norfolk Bishop's Transcripts by the Rector of Salthouse records an Edwin and Jane Sarvent among four people drowned at sea, buried on October 1st 1853 (Ancestry), no ages given but unlikely to be another couple.

386 Adopted by Joshua Robinson (qv, b 1864) and Jane nee Hampton. John's history and reminiscences form an 18-page chapter of Janet Rigby's book "Life on the Lancaster Canal" (Landy Publishing 2006). She writes: "His mother died five days after giving birth at the age of 23 and his father (unnamed), unable to bring him up on his own, asked Joshua Robinson and his wife Jane, who had no children, to look after him . . . 395 After her third husband died (probably in Runcorn, Q1 1878) the 1881 census for Widnes records her as Emma Dawson, widow, 55, b Frodsham - but no fourth marriage found. With her are her sons William Bate and John and William (Woods) recorded as Dawson.
In 1891 she is recorded as Emma Woods, widow, with sons William Bate(s) and William Woods, living with her daughter Annie (nee Woods) McAllister (also in 1901).

They are together in 1861 aboard barge John Henry on the Mersey at Liverpool, Richard Rees, 25, mate, and Sarah Rees, 26 (or 24 - obscured), mate's wife, with son John Owen Rees, 1.
Richard and Sarah Reece are in Windmill St, Runcorn, in the 1881 census, ages 48 & 47, with sons George, 15, and (Richard) Thomas, 12, (not found in 1871). They are at the same address in 1891, again as Reece, ages 51 & 54.
Husband Richard widowed in 1901 census but no death record found for Sarah.
