"From the evidence adduced it appeared that Clarkson was married in May 1857 to Hulse at Runcorn parish church. About two years ago she was married at Bolton to a man named Clarkson, who had since died. "James Dickinson said Clarkson had represented herself as a widow. She said she had been married twice before, but both husbands were dead. "The Bench committed Clarkson to the Liverpool Assizes for trial."
