  • Notes 
    • DC records the death of Robert, a Captain of a Flast, at Ashton (on Ribble), stating: 'The mast of a flat fell upon the deceased and fractured his head; died on the same day'.
      Inquest reports in local newspapers state that he was killed when struck on head by the mast aboard flat 'Harriet' in River Ribble.
      The Preston Chronicle also reported that a Thomas Meadows was charged with stealing money from the dead body. He was jailed for one month with hard labour.
