• Notes

  1845 baptism record states that Jane was born to Ellen Ashcroft, singlewoman. Her marriage record appears to give two names for her father, but the unclear handwriting has been deciphered by Doreen Hopwood of Your Family Tree Magazine as "Reputed Father Richard Dutton", who married her mother later in 1845.
